Always prefer new tires, because this is the only way to be sure that they have no structural damage, and contain all the quality, efficiency and safety requirements.
A new tire normally has a tread depth of 8mm from the bottom of the grooves to the tire’s tread surface. The shallower the tread depth, the less grip and the greater the chance of aquaplaning on wet roads. When the tread reaches a depth of 1.6mm,the tire should be changed, as this is the minimum legal limit minimum legal limit below which safety is compromised.
When tires reach the limit indicator, replacement with new tires is the solution!
When choosing new tires, take into account the tire dimensions of the tires your vehicle is designed to support. You will find this information on the sidewall of the used tire and, more importantly, in the Owner’s Booklet or in the Owner’s Handbook. The right tires for your vehicle should also match the intended conditions of use, such as road surfaces, climate and driving conditions. You can always check the information on the label that comes with the tire and compare rolling resistance, wet grip and noise emission.
Remember that the price of the tires is important, but more important is their grip in dry and wet and the number of kilometers to be traveled safely.
